An old solid-state portable transistor radio, the Royal 46 offers AFC, a carrying handle, a vertical tuning scale with large numbers, and two-band reception. This Zenith receiver has a telescoping antenna and an internal ferrite bar antenna.
Frequency coverage includes the standard AM (550 through 1600 kHz) and FM (88 through 108 MHz) bands. The tuning and volume knobs are positioned on the front of the radio, along with the band switch and the above-mentioned tuning scale.
Like many pre-1980 portables, the Zenith Royal 46 has a large folding back door with snaps to hold it in place.
