11/01/07: Interesting Online Usage Statistics

Welcome to LessWaiting.com's new weblog, which will feature data and information on internet, computer, and energy-related issues, as well as news on changes and improvements to LessWaiting.com. Our first entry provides some interesting data from the statistics regarding people who visited LessWaiting.com during October...

Although for many years Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator were thought of as the leading web browser applications, FireFox and Opera appear to be gaining ground on them substantially. The browser statistics for October '07 showed that the majority of users (65.9%) have IE, but FireFox had increased to 17.2 percent. Safari (2.8%) and Opera (1%) followed, while only 0.5% of users had Netscape browsers. Firefox increased from 16.9% the previous month.

The percentage of Apple Macintosh owners remained relatively low, but increased from 4.1% in June and 4% in August to 4.7% in October. Among people using unconventional systems to access the web site, there were a small number of Sony Playstation Portable users (slightly increased from September), bringing to mind that very few WebTV devices have accessed the site this year.
