The HF1000 is a very high-end, commercial-grade communications receiver with sophisticated features and capabilities.

It appeared in a "Universal Radio" print advertisement from 1997 with an indicated price of "under $4000" dollars. The ad states that the Watkins-Johnson HF-1000 offers fifty-eight bandwidths and "D.S.P. technology", calling it the "ultimate receiver".

The unit's front panel is covered in numerous buttons, with a fairly large digital display in the upper-right. According to MWCircle.org, the manufacturer discontinued this model late in 1999. Their web site has a photo and plenty of detailed info on it.
