The model 150 is a compact flash unit which may be attached to many different cameras. This black and chrome colored device uses a hot shoe style connection and adjusts for a tight fit.
The Vivitar 150 also has a cord attached to it, which fits into a recessed area when not in use. The "ON" switch is hidden next to a three-pronged socket on the top.
It mounts vertically or horizontally on top of the camera (the mount swivels). An advantage of this is that it won't get in the way of any buttons or other controls on the camera.
There is a distance/ASA wheel on one side of the Vivitar 150. The flash runs on two "AA" batteries. Including the batteries, the flash unit weighs about 7.4 oz (210 kg).
This Vivitar flash measures 3.6" long, 2.25" wide, and 1.1" thick (9.3x5.7x2.8 cm). These measurements exclude the metal hot shoe mount, which adds about 0.5" (1.1 cm) to one side.
