The model 1500 (a.k.a. 1500 HD) is an older notebook computer with 640k memory, a 10 MHz CPU, and a 3.5" 1.44MB floppy drive. It was sold with a twenty megabyte hard drive installed, and it runs the MS-DOS operating system.

According to the 1991 RadioShack catalog, it was priced at $1999 USD. A 2400 bps internal modem cost $199 dollars extra (item 25-3525). Other options include 1MB additional memory (25-3507) and a fax/modem (25-3509).

Laptops like this Tandy remain useful for word processing, games, and a few other purposes. With a serial modem attached, it should be adequate for checking email as well (with the right software and drivers).
