The SL/2 is a desktop PC from the 1980s with an 8086 processor (running at 8 MHz), a 3.5" floppy drive, built-in spell check (in ROM), 16-color video output, and 512k conventional memory. It came with DeskMate 3.03 (a DOS-based GUI) and DOS 3.3.
According to the book "Upgrading your Tandy", the Tandy 1000 SL/2 will accept a standard 5.25" 360K drive (as long as the cables are long enough), but it requires a special Tandy 3.5" drive. The SL/2 will not read standard 1.44MB disks; you will have to use older 720K disks.
The Tandy 1000 SL/2's memory is upgradable to 640k, which is necessary to run many DOS programs and some DeskMate software. The SL/2 can display up to 16 colors at 640x200 pixel resolution (TGA) on a CGA monitor, or B/W at 720x348 on a compatible monochrome monitor.
