The Sony "Mega Watchman B&W TV-FM/AM Receiver" model FD-500 is an older analog CRT portable television and AM/FM radio. It has an unusual tower-like design, with the TV screen near the base, the tuning scale above it, and a speaker on the top.
The FD-500 features a folding handle and jacks for connecting an earphone or external antenna. Most controls are on the side; it has switches for "Picture" (on/off), "TV Band" (VHF/UHF), and "Function" (TV/AM/FM). It has a tone control, unlike most TVs.
This Sony Watchman covers analog-only (cannot receive digital TV) channels two through 69, in addition to the regular AM and FM broadcast bands. The same radio-style tuning scale is used for selecting both television and radio stations.
