The WA-8800 is a compact boombox with a tape deck and AM/FM/shortwave coverage. It has two small built-in speakers. According to a review in the '88 World Radio TV Handbook (WRTH), this unit offers analog tuning, an alarm clock, and good reception. A receiver of this type can be used to listen to cassette tapes, regular AM/FM stations, and international SW broadcasts. Little information is available about this radio on the Internet. If you're interested in the Sony WA-8800, you might also take a look at the Electro Brand 2971, a larger multiband boombox with a cassette player.
