This is an unusually styled portable multiband receiver. A vintage unit, the Sony TFM-8100WA has a black and dark gray housing.
The transistor radio receives three bands; FM, AM, and VHF/WB. It offers analog tuning, with a vertical tuning scale and an indicator light. Frequency coverage is 87.5-108 MHz (FM), 530-1605 kHz (AM/MW), and about 161-163 MHz (weather band). One useful extra feature of this radio is FM-AFC. A knob on the front panel allows the listener to switch AFC on and off.
