This 15-band receiver uses a combination of digital and analog tuning. It offers five station presets, an alarm clock, and other features that make it convenient for portable use. A two-page Sony advertisement in the 1988 "World Radio TV Handbook" promotes this receiver, among three others. It indicates that the ICF7600DA can tune AM (MW), FM, longwave (LW), and shortwave (SW) broadcasts. It does not cover the entire SW range. The radio has a black exterior and a large LCD that represents the current frequency both digitally and with an analog scale. According to a review in the above-mentioned book, the receiver only tunes in five KHz increments and is also called the Sony ICF7700. According to RigPix.com, this radio was produced during the late 1980s (starting in 1987) and covers the lower portion of the FM band (76-88 MHz; used for TV in some countries, FM stations in Japan) as well as the normal 88-108 MHz range. Basically, the Sony 7600DA / ICF-7700 looks to be a fairly good radio for receiving international broadcasts (but not most communications) in a way that is compact and easy-to-use.
