This unit is not unlike a notebook (laptop) keyboard, but it's a separate, stand-alone device that hooks up using a PS/2 cord. It offers a "QWERTY" key layout and all twelve function keys.
The Solidtek ACK-595 also has arrows and special Windows keys. It looks as if the only keys which have been sacrificed are the numeric keypad, though you can use some of the letters as a numeric keypad if the "Num Lock" function is turned on.
All of the keys are arranged in a single rectangle. Enter, Shift, and Backspace are smaller than usual, but larger than the letters. The somewhat narrow spacebar is equal to about four and a half letters' width.
The Solidtek ACK-595 has been produced in white and black versions. It is made in China. The same model is sold under the Adesso brand name as well. No special driver or operating system is needed.
