The 2239 is an old two-band radio that picks up AM broadcasts and the VHF police band. It features a carrying handle, a large tuning knob, an internal ferrite rod antenna, and a telescoping antenna.
The Realtone 2239 has a black/chrome/metallic exterior. There's a band switch on the front panel, along with a tuning scale, which is placed horizontally near the top. Snaps hold the back cover in place.
The police band also includes a range of other assorted two-way communications. Reception proves more plentiful in populated areas or during emergencies (such as severe weather).
