This is an early solid state Citizen's Band transceiver, probably from the 1970s. The Realistic TRC-24C covers twenty-three channels and has a five-watt transmitter power.
This compact mobile CB has a black, silver, chrome, and woodgrain housing. It uses analog tuning; there is a large chrome channel knob on the front panel, along with other controls. The rear panel has antenna and power connections.
The Realistic TRC-24C transmits at the maximum legal power, though it does not cover all forty channels like many more recent CBs do. Channel 9 should only be used for emergencies.
