These two older three-channel CB walkie-talkies are both mostly black and transmit with one watt power. The Realistic TRC-88 and 83 feature telescoping metal antennas and squelch controls.
Both models also have a channel switch on the front, above the squelch and volume knobs. There are some minor differences; the 88 has a battery test button and indicator light, unlike the 83.
The 88 also has a somewhat different appearance, more of an '80s style. The TRC-83 "Citizens Band Transceiver" is catalog #21-1605. Realistic once published a service manual for it.
