This is an older FM/AM table radio with a lighted vertical tuning scale, an AC power cord, and terminals to connect an external antenna (on the back panel).
The Realistic MTA-8 tunes the standard 88-108 MHz FM, as well as approximately 540-1600 kHz AM. It was manufactured before the AM broadcast band was extended to 1720 kHz.
All of the controls are located on the front of this high-quality Realistic radio, including the volume, tone, and tuning knobs, as well as the band selection switch.
Unlike most AM/FM radios, the MTA-8 is not considered portable; there's no battery compartment, handle, or carrying strap.
