Model 12-636 is a pocket AM/FM receiver that appears to be from the mid-1980s. It runs on a standard 9V battery, a.k.a. type MN1604, PP3, 6LR61 or 6F22. The analog tuning scale is arranged horizontally.
This Realistic radio has a blue and black exterior. Extra features include a hand strap, an integrated speaker, and a telescopic antenna (to improve reception on the FM band). It has a rectangular shape.
Occasionally, this model appears on eBay.com; some even include the box and instructions. Unused new-in-box units have sold for around $20 plus shipping (2011-2012). Working used 12-636s retain some value.
