RADIO SHACK TRS-80 MODEM I

This is an early modem for use with TRS-80 computers, including the model MC-10. It is a square, desktop style unit with a single switch on top. It could be used to access various online services.

Many text-based dial-up bulletin board services (BBSes) could also be accessed with a modem like the Radio Shack TRS-80 Modem I during the '80s and '90s. Almost all have since ceased operating.

Not much other information is easily available on this specific model. Similar subsequent models included the I B, II, and DCM (Direct Connect) series. Most early '80s modems operate at 300 bps.
