This unit connects to a faucet via a small hose. It has a gauge which shows how soon the filter needs replacement. According to the box, it will "reduce" the amounts of asbestos, lead, lindane, atrazine, mercury, cryptosporidium, and giardia in the water.

The PUR Plus 6000 L was sold with a one-year warranty, one "microfilter", and a mounting kit. It does not filter out fluoride. The PUR filtration system has a white plastic exterior. It can be easily switched on or off. No electricity is required. The water temperature should be no more than 100 F (38 C).
