Review: Proctor-Silex 33275 Slow Cooker

This Proctor-Silex is a medium-sized (three quart) unit which can be used to cook a variety of foods over a long period of time. It has two temperature settings, as well as a "Keep Warm" setting. The metal and ceramic exterior is white and has a nice appearance.

The ceramic bowl and clear glass lid are removable and dishwasher safe. There are handles on both sides of the slow cooker. There is also a handle on top of the glass lid. It has a two-prong polarized AC power cord. The temperature settings work well.

The Proctor-Silex 33275 comes with a small instruction manual. To obtain some additional tips and recipes, visit a book store or library and look for a cookbook specific to slow cookers; this tends to yield better results than searching the Internet.

This slow cooker only cost $15 USD at Family Dollar in early May, 2010 (quite inexpensive for something that isn't made of plastic) and it has worked fine so far, having been used multiple times. An update will be posted here if there are any changes.

Review Notes: A slow cooker is sometimes called a crockpot. The wattage printed on the box is 155, probably the maximum.
