The PL-1900 is a stand-alone nineteen inch (48 centimeter) color LCD monitor designed for connection to a computer's standard 15-pin VGA video output jack. It comes with a helpful 22-page User's Guide.

There are many different picture adjustments, including contrast, coloration, position, brightness, and others. The maximum resolution is 1280x1024; it also supports 640x480, 720x400, 800x600, and 1024x768.

Unlike most monitors, the Planar PL1900 requires both a DC adapter and a three-prong AC power cord to be plugged in. According to the manual, it is Energy Star compliant and consumes no more than 37 watts.
