The 1600 is a vintage multiband radio with lots of chrome and ample shortwave & VHF frequency coverage. It has an interesting round world time map on the back panel.
The Panasonic RF-1600 tunes AM, MB (marine), FM, VHF, AIR (aviation), and SW bands. It receives FM/VHF/AIR 87-174 MHz, and AM/SW 0.525-18 MHz; more than many multiband radios.
This radio is UL-listed and runs on AC power or batteries. It has fine tuning and tone controls; some controls are knobs, others are sliding switches. The tuning scale is positioned vertically.
The Panasonic RF-1600 sells for about $50-100 U.S. dollars on eBay, depending upon its condition.
