Montgomery Ward Airline GEN-1476A Details

POWER: This multiband receiver can be powered with batteries or the built-in AC power cord. The cord has two prongs and is not polarized, but it's fairly heavy-duty. There is no jack for connecting a DC electrical cord (such as a cigarette lighter adapter). A switch sets the power method to AC or DC.

MATERIALS: The interior contains plenty of wood and metal, along with some plastic and other materials. The speaker cover is made of thick metal. It is a well-constructed radio. A portion of the telescoping antenna is inside the housing.

SIZE: The GEN-1476A is a moderately large radio. It measures 8" tall (20cm), 12" (31cm) wide, 4.5" (11.5cm) thick. The telescoping antenna is 28" (71cm) long, not including the portion inside the radio. It weighs about 6 pounds.

KNOBS: The large band knob on the side can be easily pulled out for cleaning or replacement. The other knobs are not easily removed. If the volume knob is "scratchy", turn it on (minimum volume), wait a few seconds, then slowly turn it up, each time you use the radio (to minimize excess noise).
