A weather/AM/FM radio receiver, the Midland 74-105XL "WeatherMax Plus" tunes all seven NOAA weather channels. It is a rectangular desktop unit with a telescoping antenna.
This radio was originally sold with an AC adapter and "Owners Guide" included. Most of the controls are located on the top panel, along with the speaker.
The Midland 74-105XL has a weather/hazard alert function which warns the user when an official alert has been released. The radio (or an alarm) turns on, and an LED indicator also activates.
Unlike some similar receivers, the "WeatherMax Plus" has an automated capability to switch from FM or AM radio to the weather band when an alert is issued.
