A portable handheld CB and weather band radio, the Maxon HCB-30A can both receive NOAA weather information stations and transmit/receive on all forty CB channels. It will run on batteries or a DC cord.
This handheld radio is black, with a green digital channel number display. Two red indicator lights are located next to the display; one lights when transmitting, the other when batteries are low.
Like many such units, the HCB-30A uses a detachable rubber-coated antenna. The manufacturer recommends connecting a mobile-type external antenna when using the CB radio in a motor vehicle.
