10/05/10 --- LessWaiting.com Search has become a metasearch engine which supplies results from Miva, SearchHippo, Exactseek, LessWaiting, Delicious, and Yahoo. It also underwent various improvements designed to enhance reliability and ease-of-use.
LessWaiting.com Search only shows listings from the engines which offer high-quality results for the specific search in question. Some searches will produce listings from 5-6 search engines, while others are automatically restricted to two or three.
Searchers can now click "Narrow Search" links in the right sidebar to restrict their results to government, organization, or educational websites. The user can make the same request by entering "gov-only", "org-only", or "edu-only" as part of a search phrase.
The background color function has also seen some improvement; it no longer loses the current search results when the user selects a different color. Unlike other engines, LessWaiting.com lets searchers select the background color with the click of a link.
LessWaiting.com Search is now compatible with more web browsers as well, due to page design changes. Full compatibility with Internet Explorer 4.0, 5.5, and 7.0 was confirmed, as well as Opera 9.24, Netscape 4.76, and Arachne 1.70.
As always, LessWaiting.com Search pages use a fast-loading format with no logos, banner advertisements, drop-down menus, or other unnecessary content. This helps searchers find information quickly, even on an older computer or dial-up connection.
LessWaiting.com also offers an even faster mobile/text search engine, designed for users of Internet-capable mobile phones and very basic web browsers (such as Lynx). It provides completely different results from the main metasearch engine.
