The Krups 653 is a black and chrome small appliance for cooking waffles. The cooking area (for two waffles) measures 4.5" by 8" (11x20 cm). A latch on the front must be lifted before it can be opened.

Other features include a carrying handle, two indicator lights (red and green), and a built-in two prong AC power cord. The cord measures approximately 37 inches long (94 centimeters).

When not in use, the Krups waffle iron can be stored flat or sitting vertically on its back (which saves space). Plastic feet on the bottom elevate it slightly above the countertop.

It is mostly made of plastic, but there is also some metal. A label on the bottom of the Krups 653 indicates a maximum wattage of 640W and states that the waffle iron was manufactured in China.
