KODAK DISC 8000 CAMERA

A vintage high-end disc camera, the 8000 is a compact black and gold-colored unit with a built-in flash. It features a mini digital alarm clock, a strap holder, and motorization.

The Kodak Disc 8000 also has a self-timer, which is activated when the switch to the left of the lens is set to the hour-glass symbol. The camera then beeps several times before taking a photo.

It is capable of taking fairly close-up photographs. A two-position switch changes the focus to 1.5-4 feet or four feet to infinity. The camera's small viewfinder indicates the current mode.

Unlike the vast majority of film (and digital) cameras, this Kodak has "Made in U.S.A." printed on its film door. Most cameras are/were made in Japan, China, Taiwan, and other Asian countries.

The Kodak Disc 8000 weighs 7.8 ounces (222 grams) and measures approximately 3.125" wide, 4.875" long, and 1.125" thick (7.8x12.5x2.9 cm). The plastic lid must be unfolded to take a photo.

Unfortunately, film for Kodak disc cameras is difficult to find (even expired), and the battery cannot be easily replaced. Even if you can't use it, the 8000 still makes a nice collector's item.
