A yellow and black "AM/FM/Weatherband Radio", the Kaito KA001 offers a built-in dynamo crank, charging/power indicator lights, an integrated speaker, and a round three-LED flashlight.
The unit's radio covers 540-1700 kHz (AM), 162.4-162.55 MHz (Weather), and 88-108 MHz (FM). This allows the listener to hear frequent news, music, and weather reports. Tuning is accomplished using analog controls and a vertically-positioned tuning scale.
A switch on the Kaito KA001 lets the user select battery or dynamo power. Batteries are preferable if there isn't enough time to crank; they would also be useful if the dynamo were to fail.
