A portable three-band weather alert receiver, this jWin model is available from Radio Shack, Amazon.com, and others. It typically costs around $30 U.S. dollars new.
Features of the jWin JXM122 include a digital display, a strap, and a telescopic antenna. It can pick up AM, FM, and NOAA weather stations. Its exterior is mostly black.
According to JR.com (which also sells it), the radio runs on three "AA" batteries or an AC adapter. This is fewer batteries than most equivalent radios require.
Tip: If weather band reception is poor, try putting the JXM122 on a windowsill or on top of a tall bookshelf.
