LessWaiting.com Information Main Menu Buying the least expensive cups in a grocery store often isn't the most environmentally friendly choice. Foam and plastic disposable cup types are made from non-renewable resources and are not biodegradable. Although they shouldn't be used in excess, paper cups at least do not have the above-mentioned problems; they also can be more easily flattened, taking up less space in trash cans and resulting in fewer trash bags being used. Try to avoid buying unnecessarily large disposable cup sizes as well. Using reusable cups as much as possible is preferable. Ceramic or plastic reusable cup types are more environmentally friendly than glass, in that they are less likely to become broken, resulting in less replacement and disposal. |
