It does not have a built-in speaker, but features two standard 1/8" audio output jacks, next to its green stereo indicator light. The lack of a built-in speaker is less convenient, but does reduce its weight. There are separate volume controls for the left and right side of the earphones, headphones, or speakers connected to it. Despite its small size, it is capable of producing a high level of volume through the audio jacks, making it possible to use fairly large non-amplified speakers. It also features a belt clip and mono/stereo switch. It runs on three "AA" batteries, and lacks an external power jack. The only significant drawback of this unit is that the battery cover is sometimes rather difficult to remove. It does not have a telescopic antenna, but reception is fairly good for a unit of its size. These can occasionally be purchased on eBay, but are not very common.
