It is a small portable radio that weighs less than one pound. There is a jack for DC power, and it runs on 4 "AA" batteries. It has a telescoping antenna, which broke after owning the radio for a few years. However, the replacement antenna at Radio Shack was inexpensive. It has fairly good reception on all bands, but the reception is not as good as that of many other multiband radios, except for the AM band which has good reception for a radio of this size.
