Tandy 1000 RLX Computer
The Tandy 1000 RLX is a desktop-style 286 IBM compatible computer which was offered in three different versions, the standard RLX, the RLX/B, and the RLX/HD (which had a hard drive). It features a standard 1.44MB 3.5" floppy drive, built-in digital sound, and VGA graphics. It requires an XT-type PS/2 keyboard. The "B" version was sold with DOS 5.0 installed (rather than 3.3), which can be advantageous in some situations, and had different joystick ports.

It is very easy to upgrade and repair, with an easy-to-remove external housing, few or no overlapped components, and hardly any internal cables. The floppy drive has an auto-sensing feature which enables it to detect the insertion of a disk (such as when the included DeskMate software asks for a disk to be inserted), and receives both power & data through the same cable, reducing the number of cables inside the computer. It also takes up very little space on the desk, compared to most computers.

Accessories & Upgrades: Mouse, joystick, microphone, printer, up to 1MB memory (total), hard drive, 2nd floppy drive, modem.

Compatible Software: DeskMate, Windows 3.1 (with 1MB of memory), Windows 2.03, Space Quest III, Oregon Trail.
