The back door is opened by pulling up on the rewind knob and pulling at the edge of the door at the same time. It can be somewhat difficult to get open - try using a small, flat screwdriver to pry it open. Overall, the Shoot & Go "R" appears to be a good-quality, inexpensive, easy-to-use camera.
