The Thinkpad R60 features a large screen, black exterior, two USB ports, and an Intel "Centrino Duo" 1.7 GHz processor. It has two different built-in pointing devices, a PS/2 port, a large rear-mounted battery, and two latches.

There are audio, network, and RJ11 (telephone) ports as well. However, it does not have a floppy drive, parallel, or serial ports. The R60 uses a 90 watt, 20 volt Lenovo AC adapter. The computer is manufactured in China.

A computer such as this can be used for most computing purposes with a few exceptions, such as applications where older peripherals must be used or environments where computer equipment is prone to damage.
