About the Grundig G2 Weather Band Radio

This is a small handheld receiver capable of tuning the AM, FM, and WX bands. It has a telescoping antenna, earphone jack, and speaker.

According to an advertisement in the 2000 "Passport to World Band Radio", the G2 tunes the full FM and AM bands (including the extended 1600-1710 kHz range) plus the NOAA weather information band. It is "weather resistant" and runs on three "AAA" batteries.

This Grundig receiver has a silver-colored exterior, analog tuning, and a power indicator. AM and FM tuning are accomplished using a small knob, while WX channels are selected with a switch. It covers three channels; 162.4, 162.475, and 162.55 MHz.

The Grundig G2 looks like a compact, easy-to-use radio from a quality brand. The only obvious downside is that it doesn't cover all seven NOAA channels.
