This is a large AM/FM portable radio with a big built-in speaker, a telescoping antenna, and analog tuning. It also features a folding handle, an earphone jack, and screws for attaching an external antenna. The GE 7-2887A runs on AC or battery power.
This General Electric radio also has a "wide band" switch, bass/treble controls, and switchable AFC. In addition to the standard AM and FM frequencies, it tunes the extended portion of the AM band (1600-1700 kHz). It has a built-in 2-prong AC electrical power cord.
The GE Superadio III is known for its great reception and sound. Because of this, it retains more resale value than most AM/FM radios and is even worth more than many low-end shortwave receivers. The 7-2887A generally sells for $50-60 USD in eBay auctions.
