General Electric used to manufacture pocket-size radios which can receive standard AM and FM broadcasts, as well as TV sound on channels two through thirteen. These handheld units have built-in speakers, so headphones are optional. Two such radios include the GE 7-2924 and 7-2927A. The 2924 is black and silver-colored, while the 2927A is tan and (mostly) black. Both have a rectangular shape. GE also made larger portables with similar band coverage, such as the 7-2945A. In most parts of the United States, these radios are no longer useful for receiving TV sound, because of the change to digital television. Regardless of whether you can pick up any television audio, they still make good AM/FM receivers.
