FILE TO DISK TRANSFER SERVICE

LessWaiting.com offers a service which transfers files to 3.5" floppy disks (720k or standard 1.44mb) and sends the disks by postal mail. This service is only available in the U.S. and Canada, due to mailing costs.

Using the File to Disk Transfer Service makes it easy to move files from a computer without a floppy drive to a computer that has one. You can also reuse the disks for other purposes. Only new disks are used for this service.

Rates are as follows...

  • Shipping fee: U.S. flat rate of $2, Canada $4. Will use Media Mail or First Class Mail, depending upon the weight. Priority Mail is available within the U.S. at extra cost.
  • Per disk, 3.5" 720k disks: $2.50 for each 720k (0.72mb) of files. Another option is to put compressed ZIP files on the disks for $2 per 720k; the destination computer must have a hard drive for this to work.
  • Per disk, 3.5" 1.44mb disks: $2 for each 1.44mb of files. An alternative is to place compressed ZIP files on the disks for $1.50 per 1.44mb; the destination computer needs to have a hard drive for this to work.
