Fan Power Consumption

With summer approaching, we tested a few different fans to find out exactly how much power (watts) they use at certain speed settings...

Holmes Twin Window Fan... Low: 41W, High: 54W
Cool Breeze Table " "... Low: 30W, Medium: 34W, High: 40W
Galaxy Box " "... Low: 67W, Medium: 81W, High: 100W

This reveals that many fans use little more power on medium than they do on the lowest setting. The high settings consume around thirty percent more electricity than the low speeds. Either way, they use far less energy than an air conditioner.

Another conclusion which can be drawn from these measurements is that it's about 35-50 percent more efficient to run one fan on its highest speed than two fans on low.
