The Electro Brand model 2016 is a lightweight pocket radio with a built-in speaker, telescoping antenna, four-band reception, and an earphone jack. It appears fairly often on eBay auctions. There is a very similar model made by the Encore brand. The 2016 can receive the following four bands: FM, TV1 (audio of TV channels 2-6), TV2 (audio of TV channels 7-13), and NOAA/NWS weather.

Reception is fairly good on all of the bands. The Electro Brand 2016 lacks an AM band, but this reduces the weight and size because it doesn't need to have a ferrite rod, which is used in most radios as an AM antenna. The only significant downside is that the FM tuning scale is rather narrow, making FM tuning a bit difficult.

It runs on three "AA" batteries and does not have a jack for powering it with an adapter. In general, it is a good quality receiver which is very portable and convenient to use. The newer ElectroBrand 2150 is a similar portable model (receives the same four bands plus AM) with a different appearance.

UPDATE: Due to the digital TV transition, this radio can no longer receive most U.S. television stations. It will receive Canadian stations until the digital TV transition occurs in Canada. This will not affect FM or weather band reception.
