The TV500 is a five-inch black & white CRT analog television which features a 2-band radio, a telescoping antenna, a carrying handle, and a prop/stand for adjusting the viewing angle.
This Cornet product runs on AC, DC, or battery power. Most controls are on the front, but the radio tuning dial and the "FM/AM/TV" switch are located on the side of the TV-500, near the top.
The U.S. and several other countries have changed over to digital television broadcasting (a.k.a. "DTV"), and additional nations will carry out this transition during the next few years.
Unfortunately, televisions like the Cornet TV-500 cannot receive DTV broadcasts without a converter box. Even with no converter, it remains useful for radio reception and VCR usage.
