The following information provides some samples of the prices various companies charged for new computers and monitors in 1994...

Micro Systems: New Daytek fourteen-inch VGA monitor for $249 U.S. dollars. A high-resolution (1024x768) CTX screen was priced at $289 USD.

PC Enterprises: 66 MHz 486 with SVGA monitor, 5.25" & 3.5" floppy drives, and Windows 3.1 for $1,389. A similar 33 MHz 486 system cost $1,129.

PC Enterprises also offered black & white VGA monitors with 640x480 maximum resolution for only $139 dollars, and color units for as much as $429.
