1541C Disk Drive Details

The 1541 C is a 5.25" external floppy drive from the 1980s, designed for use with some computers made by Commodore Business Machines.

The "Secret Guide to Computers" indicates that this model was an improvement over the original 1541, which was of poor quality.

According to Commodore.ca, the new 1541C appeared at the summer Consumer Electronics Show in mid-1986.

Later on, the more modern-looking 1571 model was released. It was well-designed and also more reliable than the original 1541.

3.5" disk drives and tape drives were also available for these computers, most of which accepted software on cartridges as well.
