This is a fairly impressive older multiband receiver which tunes several different broadcast and communications bands. It runs on AC power or batteries.
The Cariole 19985 has a world map and a global time calculation wheel, which fold down to cover the tuning scale when not in use. This can be used to easily find the current time in another country.
Like the map, the tuning scale is wide and colorful. It has a large analog tuning knob. The multi-band radio also has several pushbuttons. There is a big handle and a telescopic antenna on the top.
The unit's exterior is mostly black and chrome. It has an unusual speaker grille design. Though it is old, the Cariole 19985 does not use vacuum tubes.
