This older cassette recorder from Bell & Howell offers a built-in speaker, a tape counter, and a carrying handle. It is a black desktop unit with its tape door located on the top.
The Bell and Howell 3179A has some features the average cassette recorder lacks. There is an ALC on/off switch, a remote control jack, an auxiliary jack, and four headphone jacks.
It also has a built-in microphone, a microphone jack, a pause button, and "Automatic Tape Stop". The 3179A is UL-listed, runs on 120V AC or 6V DC power, and was manufactured in Taiwan.
Note: Some schools have used this tape recorder.
