BELKIN BE106001-08R REVIEW

The Belkin BE106001-08R surge protector is a relatively high-end unit which provides significant surge protection, while allowing you to connect multiple devices to a single electrical outlet.

It features six three-prong outlets (as do many power strips) and offers seven-hundred joules of surge protection, which is higher than some of the other models available in stores today. It has a long, rectangular shape; there is a row of outlets, rather than a grid.

The Belkin BE106001-08R also boasts a 360-degree rotating plug and a $50,000 Connected Equipment Warranty, as well as a Lifetime Warranty on the product itself. It has a long eight-foot cord. It doesn't have a power indicator light like most such units (which isn't as convenient, though it probably does save a bit of electricity).

This white surge protector has a nice appearance and matches beige or white computer equipment well. The on/off switch is located at the end of the strip, on the side, which makes the Belkin BE106001-08R convenient to place next to a monitor. It is also UL-listed.

So far the Belkin has functioned reliably, after a few days of use. If any changes occur, an update will be posted to this review.

Note: Available at Home Depot stores as of July, 2010.
