A diesel version of the compact Datsun 720 truck was available for purchase in the early-mid 1980s. It is rather fuel-efficient; according to the FuelEconomy.gov data file for 1982, the diesel powered version has gas mileage of approximately thirty-three miles per gallon, whereas the gasoline versions of the same year receive about 23-25 miles per gallon.
