ARCHER 60-4012 RADIO

This "Space Patrol" base station is a vintage two-way radio which communicates on a single channel. It also receives regular AM radio broadcasts, which makes it more useful.

The Archer 60-4012 base unit has a rubber-coated antenna and a carrying handle. There is a volume control and an AM tuning knob. A separate microphone is attached by a coiled cord.

It's not clear if all were dark gray or if some dark blue colored 60-4012 units were also manufactured. Archer "Space Patrol" handheld walkie-talkies were available as well.

Although the radio itself and the instruction manual look relatively serious, the name and the pictures on the cardboard box suggest that this product was primarily marketed to children.
