A compact, rectangular Nickel Cadmium battery charger, the Archer 23-132A charges "AA", "C", "D", and 9-volt batteries. It will only charge sets of two or four at a time (except 9V).
Its exterior coloration is mostly brown/tan and black. The unit used for this review was manufactured in Hong Kong during the winter of 1992. According to information printed on its base, the Archer 23-132A is UL-listed and outputs 2.4/9V at 140 mA.
Two red lights indicate when batteries are charging. A semi-transparent plastic cover folds down to cover the battery area while the unit is charging or not in use. The charger weighs just over one pound, not including the non-polarized AC power cord.
Overall, the Archer 23-132A is a good Nickel Cadmium battery charger that works well. However, a model that will charge one at a time (or more than four) is sometimes desirable.
